VINTAGE PATCHWORK PIECES BOX
Every box has a different selection of colours and fabrics, no two are the same. contents;
7 Suffolk Puffs
35 ready tacked hexagons
35 vintage paper hexagons and 35 pieces of vintage fabric ready cut
Also included are a few spares and pieces of plain antique french linen to back your project.
What you can make up from this box ;
10 flower hexagons - 70 hexagons in total
7 hexagons sewn together make one flower shape
alternatively you can make up approximately 2 x 12 inch squares for a cushion cover.
These are for English paper piecing patchwork.
Tack the fabric around the paper pieces
Slip stitch the pieces together and once complete you can remove the tacking leaving just the fabric and re-use your paper pieces.
Iron lightly and depending on the thickness of fabric either use directly onto your project or sew onto a backing fabric. If the pieces vary in size so that you can’t make them meet together then undo the tacking to allow the fabric to move closer.
Use these to patch up holes in clothing or add a retro feature, make cards, cushions or small homeware pieces for the table like a runner or a place setting.
Each box is different and unique as these vintage pieces are a one off and contain a selection of hexagon patchwork shapes including the rare and unusual Suffolk Puffs. Some pieces are tacked together ready to slip stitch into your project and there’s also old card and pre-cut fabrics dating from the mid century (60’s - 80’s) there are some lovely ditsy lawn and cottons cut from clothing and sewing scraps, it’s like a trip down memory lane. The card insert templates look like they have been re-cylced from old greeting cards and cereal boxes.. These colours work particularly well with Retro home style or for children’s projects.
